Junk Journal Style Tags On a Ring With Crows
I’ve seen this called a ring journal or a ring dex, but that isn’t a well known thing at this time so I’m calling this a junk journal style tags on a ring and the crow part, to me, is important. I see ravens represented often in art but I don’t see crows as much. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.
Either way, I’ve always been partial to crows. So they’re very present in this little collection of mixed media pieces.
With just a color theme in mind (my current favorite: green, purple, and brown) I used what I already had to make this tactile delight. I love textures and depth when it comes to creative adventures with paper.
With this project I learned how well I flow with my creative process when I give in fully to the experiment. my only goal was to produce a full stack of junk journal inspired tags that I could stack on a ring.
I didn’t really plan the words. Each one just came to me as I held the tag and started scrambling for letters. How exciting to use alphabet stickers I accidentally ordered and never thought I’d use!
You may not be able to tell but there’s cardboard in some (or most?) of these tags. I loved making this. Maybe I should make another one…
